IAS Manoj Kumar Singh takes over mantle as Chief Secretary, U.P.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has got a new Chief Secretary. After the tenure of Durga Shankar Mishra ended, 1988 batch IAS officer Manoj Kumar Singh has been made the new Chief Secretary of UP. Manoj Kumar Singh will be both Chief Secretary and IIDC. The order has also been issued to this effect.

Took charge today afternoon

Manoj Kumar Singh has taken charge as Chief Secretary on Sunday i.e. today afternoon. According to the information, the tenure of 1984 batch IAS officer Durga Shankar Mishra has ended today. He was to retire in December 2021, but he was made the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh by giving extension of service. After this, he got a one-year extension again in December 2022.

Not only this, when the tenure was going to end in December 2023, he got a six-month extension in view of the Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, there were speculations about him getting the fourth extension of service, but now these have come to a halt. The government has handed over the responsibility of Chief Secretary to IAS Manoj Kumar Singh.

IAS Manoj Kumar Singh, originally a resident of Ranchi, has been counted among the influential officers of the state. He has had the responsibility of many important departments. He has played an important role in implementing many schemes of the government. He is counted among the trusted officers of Yogi. Singh will retire in 2025.  Manoj Kumar Singh has the responsibility of more than six departments and institutions along with Panchayati Raj Department, Horticulture and Food Processing.
